“I love when I catch you working… specs on and everything,” I looked up from my laptop to see Dominique standing there with flowers.

Dominique always made sure I had flowers every week. Some days they were delivered, and then days like today, he delivered them to me.

“Babe, what are you doing here?” I closed my laptop and walked around my desk.

Tossing my arms around his neck, he gave me a quick lift and kissed me. “You been avoiding me.”

“Have not. I’ve been busy… I wish I could say finding you a home is one of those things.”

“I’m good where I’m at. The host agreed to rent to me on a monthly basis.” He shrugged it off.

I stepped back and looked up at him. “If you don’t want me to find you a home… you know you could just tell me.”

“Don’t be like that… is it wrong that I like the area I’m in now?”

“You can own in the area you’re in now,” I countered.

He grabbed hold of my shoulders and rubbed them. “When the time is right, I will have the best realtor in all of Brookwood find me my dream home. Right now, I’m just enjoying where I’m at... okay?”

Even though I was hesitant, I agreed. “Okay… long as you come find me when you’re ready,” I winked, playing around with him.

I walked back around my desk with the flowers in my arms. “You’re never going to be far, so I don’t have to look hard.”

I smiled. “Not shooting the show today? I didn’t think I would see you until later on today.”

He sat down in that infamous chair that he had been sitting in the first time we met one another. “I had the day off and wanted to take you out to lunch. You know… if you’re not too busy.”

“Luckily for you, my client canceled on me so I’m free, too.”

Just as Dom was about to say something, Jackson nearly shoved himself through my door with a fake ass smile plastered across his face.

“Hey Dom, man. How has Brookwood been treating you?”

I could tell that Jackson annoyed the hell out of Dom from the way he was staring at him. “It’s been good, man,” he quickly replied.

“Jackson, can I help you?”

Since I had been back working in the office this man hadn’t come inside my office once. Now he wanted to come trying to make some light conversation as if this was a normal occurrence for us.

“Yes. Mrs. Herring just called me. She says that they decided to go with another firm. Any explanation for that?”

I swiped through my calendar on my iPad. “What? I have something on the books with them next week. She told me they were going to be out of town this week with family.”

“Got a call that she’s going with another realtor from another agency… I told you to hunker down and reel them in.”

Jackson may have been an asshole; however, he was right about the Herrings. He said that people like them needed to be told what kind of home they wanted.
